My first ever Open Mic in LA, hosted by yours truly!

R.A.W @ Synergetics Coffee in Westfield Topanga Mall

It twas a good start! 

4 performers besides, yours truly hit the stage/ or graciously walked up to the mic standing in front of this lovely wall that I match so perfectly. Wasn't planned but an intuitive moment, where the wall and I were one, at least for the moment. 

And what a spectacular moment it was! 

One poet, Cory M. got up to do 3 of his original poems. [No image provided] 

2nd up to the stage was Matthew, "The Double D" giving us a taste of his improv song making skills ny making an in the moment mix of a phone app called Music Maker Jam. @denim13productions 

3rd up was the goddess, Lucila Al Mar @lucilalmar

[Image provided] she gave us 4 takes of her originals, in gritty and powerful fashion.

4th was a close friend of Lucila's. My apologies for not knowing his name right now. [Image not provided]. After settling into the vibe of the night, watching everyone perform, he took a leap of faith and perform a 2 minute guitar song for the first time in front of an audience. 

I knew this was a historical moment by the look in Lucila's eyes, which were filled with love, surprise and pride. 

I loved the event and am excited for the next one. 

With the goal being to create a place to heal myself and others. I got a feeling that we're on the right track. One step at a time.
